KÜÇÜK AMA BÜYÜK YARIŞ
Bir birimin tam milyarda biri olarak kabul edilir. 10-9 ile o uzunluğu çarparak elde ederiz bu ölçüyü. Yunanca “cüce” anlamına gelen bu kelime birçok araştırmanın, olayın, konunun boyutunu değiştirir. Mecazen değil, tamamen gerçek anlamda. Bu kelime: Nano. Nanometre mesela, metrenin milyarda biri anlamına gelen bir ölçü birimidir. Bu gözle görülemeyecek kadar küçük bir uzunluktur. Nanoteknoloji ise maddeyi atomlarla ve moleküllerle, yani atomik boyutuyla kontrol etmeyi sağlar.
Nanocar Yarışı
Elbette ki bizi ilgilendiren kısım teknoloji ile alakalı. Nanoteknoloji, bugün hayatımızda önemli konuları ilgilendiren bir yerde. Bu teknoloji ile üretilecek aygıtlar, dokularımızda gözle görülemeyecek kadar küçük bir tedavi ile belki birçok ameliyattan daha kolay ve pratik çözümlerle insan üzerinde neredeyse hasarsız bir iyileştirme tekniği sağlayabilir. Daha basit düşünürsek, bu teknoloji kendi kendini temizleyen araba ve ev; kendi kendine boyanan ayakkabı, yenilenebilen su kaynakları veya daha komplike düşünürsek insan vücuduna yerleştirilen zihin bilgisayarları gibi amaçlar için kullanılabilir bir gün. Her geçen gün bu konuda atılan adımlar unların olabileceğine dair umutlarımızı yeşertmiyor değil elbette. Hatta ilk kez 2017’de yapılan ve 2021 yılında 2.’si için hazırlığı süren bir Nanocar yarışı bile söz konusu. Yanlış anlaşılmaya mahal vermemek için açıklayalım: Bu yarış nano boyutlardaki atom ve moleküllerin bir araya getirilmesiyle oluşan arabaların yine ona uygun bir ortamda yarıştırılmasıyla gerçekleşen bir yarış. Formula 1’in milyarda biri kadar küçük bir yarış. Gözle görülmesi mümkün olmayan bu araçlar o kadar hassas ki yarışın pürüzsüz ve diğer atomlarla az iletişime giren bir yüzeyde olması gerekiyor, bu ihtiyacı da ancak altın karşılıyor. Bu yarış bir saç telinin yüzde bir inceliğinde, yani 100 nm uzunluğundaki altın bir plakanın üstünde gerçekleşti ve iki tane birincisi olan bu yarışmada bir takım yarışı yaklaşık 2 saatte tamamlarken bir takım yirmi dokuz saatin sonunda anca tamamlayabildi.
Formula Nano:
Şimdi sıkı durun! 2021’de olması planlanan 2. yarıştan önce hayalleri olan bir Türk, şu an bu yarışı sanal dünyaya taşımak istiyor. Pittsburgh Üniversitesi’nden Kutay Berk SEZGİNEL, atomlardan oluşan bu arabaları tasarlamak üzere bir yazılım yazdı. Bir arabadaki gövde, şasi, tekerlek vb. özelliklere sahip olan bu nano arabaları kendi yazdığı yazılımla başarılı bir şekilde oluşturabiliyor. Hem de bu programın bütün kaynak kodlarını ulaşılabilir bir şekilde kamuya açtı. Kutay’ın şimdiki hedefi sanal ortamdaki ilk nanocar yarışını tasarlamak ve organize etmek. Hayallerinin peşinden giden bu arkadaşın desteğe ihtiyacı var. Bu işle ilgilenen yatırımcı, akademisyen ve yazılımcılarla iletişime geçmek istiyor. Şu an Formula Nano isimli bir Twitter hesabı aldı ve web sitesini tasarladı bile. Ayrıca Formula Nano için 5 ayrı logo tasarımını halka anket için internet sitesinden sundu. En zor olan şeyi, hayal kurmayı başarmış olan SEZGİNEL, koşmaya başladı ve hayallerini gerçekleştirmek için bizlerden destek bekliyor. Yapacak hiçbir şeyimiz yoksa bile paylaşıp duyuralım. Güzel şeyler yapmak isteyenler için biz de güzel şeyler yapalım. Umarız başarılı olur. Böyle bir ilki Türklerin yapması güzel olmaz mı ama…

Small But Big Race
It is accepted as full billionth of a unit. People obtain this measure when they multiply 10 to this length. This word which meaning “dwarf” in Japanese, may change dimension a lot of researches, subjects, events. This meaning is not metaphor, it is real meaning. This word is nano. For example, nanometer which is unit of measure, meaning is billions of meters. This length is a very small length as much as not see with eye. Nanotechnology, on the other hand, allows to control matter with atoms and molecules, that is, its atomic dimension.
Nanocar Race
Of course, we interest in part of technology. Nanotechnology in special place which concern special subjects in our life. With easier and more functional solutions that the gadgets, which will be produced owing to this technology, give us, even with a simple treatment a better and more undamaged healing technic can be applicable. if we think simple, we can say that this technology can be used for cars and houses that clean it selves, shoes that changes its own color, or for renewable water supplies. Or if we think in a more complicatedly, one day this technology can also be used for body centered gadgets like mind computers. Every passing day, the steps that has been taken giving us the hope that all of these things can be possible.
There is even a first Nanocar race in 2017, which is getting ready for the second place in 2021.we explain it for not misunderstood, this race is a race that takes place by bringing together the atoms and molecules of nanoscale in a suitable environment. A small race which Formula1’s billionth of million. These vehicles, which cannot be seen with the eye, are so delicate that the race must be on a smooth surface with little contact with other atoms, which is only met by gold. Formula Nano

Kutay Berk SEZGINEL from the University of Pittsburgh has written software to design these atomic cars. In a car body, chassis, wheel and so on. These nano cars with features can successfully create with their own software. It also made all the source code of this program accessible to the public. Kutay’s current goal is to design and organize the first nanocar race online. This friend who is chasing her dreams needs support.
