Yapay zekanın güzel amaçlarla kullanıldığı bir proje daha aramızda. Mühendis Engineer Bainomugisha sayesinde Afrika’nın en büyük hava kirliliği sorununu yaşayan Uganda’da bulunan bu sorunu yapay zekâ ile çözmek için ilk adımlarını attı. Kutu deyip geçmeyin! Engineer Bainomugisha’nın ekibiyle yapmış olduğu küçük bir kutudan ibaret olan bu aygıt sayesinde bütün bunlar olacak. Kutuyu yerini almadan önce motor taksilerin arkasına hava sensörleri yerleştirerek hava kirlilik derecesini ölçmeye çalışıyorlar. Ardından bölgedeki kirlilik oranını tahmin ederek işe koyulmayı planlıyorlar. Onların hayalleri ise bir gün bu teknoloji ile kıtanın her neresinde kirlilik varsa onu yok etmek ve gelecek nesillere daha güzel bir ülke bırakmak. Engineer Bainomugisha okumak için ailesinden uzakta, Kampala’da, Makerere Üniversitesi’nde kendi çabalarıyla geliştirdiği yazılım bilgisi ile bu projeyi oluşturuyor. Yapay zekâ ile hayatımıza fayda ve dünyanın daha yaşanabilir bir ortam olmasını sağlayacağını düşündüğümüz bu proje kimimizi sevindirirken kimimize etrafımızdaki imkanların bize neler kazandırabileceği ölçüp işe koyulmanın zamanını geldiğini hatırlatır nitelikte.

Do not underestimate the box.Made by Engineer Baingomugisha with his team, this device is only a small box. Before putting the box in its place, they try to learn the degree of pollution of the air with the air sensors they place behind the motor taxis.Then they plan to start by estimating the pollution rate in the region. Their dream is to clean the air pollution in the continent and leave a cleaner country to future generations with this project.
Engineer Bainomugisha creating this project with the software knowledge he developed at Makerere University in Kampala, away from his family for education. This project, which we hope will benefit our lives with artificial intelligence and make the world a more livable environment, makes some of us happy, while reminding some of us that it is time to measure what the opportunities around us can bring us and get to work.
